Life Scientist (General)

A life scientist is a professional who specialises in doing research and investigations in the field of life sciences. In their daily tasks, they study origins, how composition works and how living organisms behave. They specialise in some areas like botany, genetics and microbiology. Working as a life scientist, it is expected to contribute to scientific knowledge and create practical applications like medicine, agriculture and environmental conservation. A life scientist’s main aim is to study the factors surrounding life in general and find ways to do better in it and possibly correct defects in the overall balance. From their respective specialisation, life scientists may think more about the theoretical side of things or practical experiments.

A life scientist does multiple experiments, like they analyse information gathered from labs, research, observation or studies and manage progress and actions to be taken. They conduct experiments on the chemical configurations of cells, organs and tissue. They design research projects and experiments to test theories or advance information on a particular subject. They document lab, research and observational findings into database systems, lab reports, scientific papers and theoretical reports.

They examine the structure and functions of organs and bodily processes and tissue through dissections and microscopic analysis. They explore the interactions of living organisms with their environments and analyse the effects of changed environmental conditions on species. They observe and analyse micro-organisms as they relate to humans, animals and plant species to identify adverse causes and create beneficial functions for them.
