Human Resource Adviser ANZSCO Code- 223111

A Human Resource Adviser is a crucial support person to the HR activities of an organisation that gives advice, policy and solutions to the management of the employees. They are mostly tasked to support managers and staff on issues relating to recruitment, workplace relations, performance, development and compliance in organisations. HR Advisers become a mediator between the staff and the management as they make sure that communication is effective, procedures are not prejudiced, and the workplace culture is positive. They assist during recruitment in job description preparation, screening of candidates, interview organisation and onboarding of new employees. HR Advisers also strategise the managers on the performance management process, where they facilitate them to set expectations, reviews, and handle performance issues. They are also significant in employee relations as they mediate between the employees, clarify the policies, and also make sure that issues occurring in the workplace are sorted out appropriately and within the legal framework that stipulates the same.

The other significant role is the interpretation of employment laws, awards, contracts, and organisational policies to ensure their compliance. They create HR reports, take care of employees records, and assist in policy development that has to do with leave, conduct, safety, and workforce development. The HR advisers also participate in the training and development programs where they detect the skills gaps and arrange workshops or learning programmes to facilitate employee development. Good communication, discretion and organisational skills will also be required because the HR Advisers deal with sensitive information and interact with employees at any rate. They have to be informed about emerging employment laws, workplace requirements and practices in the industry to offer viable and precise recommendations.

The Human Resource Adviser can play an important role in the development of a productive and respectful legal working environment. Their directions empower the welfare of employees, reinforce organisational culture, and make the HR processes effective and goal-oriented in the organisation.
