Conveyancer

The professional fulfilling the legal and administrative part of the property transactions and making real estate dealings complete is known as a conveyancer (ANZSCO code: 599111). Their role is to coordinate business and legal procedures of purchasing, selling, and transferring of property, and ensure that each phase of a land or property deal is running properly and legally. Their primary job is to compile, organise, and align the paperwork, compliance inspections, and financial resolutions of property transfers such that the clients can sail through the process in a clear and confident manner.

The job description of this position is folded in many tasks. Their main focus is however, on legal documentation and due diligence that incorporates the drafting and reviewing of contracts, a check on property titles, examination of zoning and compliance concerns and a check on whether all the legal requirements are satisfied prior to an agreement being finalized. In addition, the conveyancers also interact with several parties with buyers and sellers, real estate agents, solicitors, lenders, and government authorities, to maintain transparent communication and an efficient process. In addition, they are the key connection point between clients and all other stakeholders, and guard the clients interests and give them a clear direction in the entire transaction. The vacancy requires an individual with a good understanding of good legal knowledge and fine attention to detail, and oral skills. It is a level 1 occupation and normally needs a formal qualification in conveyancing, legal studies, or some other relevant area, combined with considerable experience in property law or transactional work. The location of work is not fixed, it can be an office or a distant place, and the working days can go beyond the morning time to the evening times or during the rush hours when settlements are about to be made. Ultimately, a conveyancer is one who makes sure that property dealings are carried out safely, legally, and effectively, and hence they are an important element of the real estate business, which is the lifeblood of the property market.
