Bed and Breakfast Operator

A bed and breakfast operator is a person who works to manage daily operations for meals and welcomes guests. They work for organizations such as Hotels, motels, resorts, student housing and other accommodation facilities or they can be self-employed. Their work involves overseas reservations, receptions, and housekeeping activities. They watch out for overseas accounting and purchase activities.

Their main task is to develop, execute, and analyze policies for the operations department. They prepare a budget, check revenue and expenses. They also take part in creating pricing and promotional strategies. They manage the budget and sometimes negotiate with suppliers for materials and suppliers. They give their contribution in recruiting staff and give them training and set their work schedule. They also make negotiations with clients for the use of facilities like conventions, banquets, receptions and other functions. They keep records and solve clients' problems. They can also give information and guidance to the visitors and arrange transportation for them. They are responsible for maintenance and cleanliness, keeping the property safe. Their overall work is to take care of guests who are going to stay in their hotels.
